Prologue
The Real-Time chapters here are a highly condensed and simplified preview of the book’s main content. The page menu in the right hand column provides an outline. The preceding Introduction to the preview is a prerequisite to these Real-Time chapter previews.
Chapters 1, 2, and 3 are about individual real-time actions (e.g., computational tasks, exogenous physical behaviors). Chapter 4 is about real-time systems (including operating systems) which include real-time actions.
