Distributed Real-Time Computing Systems

Introduction

This set of pages summarizes how everything described on this site about real-time systems (beginning on the Real-Time Overview page) applies to distributed real-time systems as well as centralized ones. (It is not a tutorial or survey about distributed real-time computing systems.)

First, we briefly recap the asynchronous and synchronous models of distributed systems as they pertain to real-time computing:
Asynchronous and Synchronous Models

Then we introduce the concept of multi-node behavior:
Multi-Node Behavior

Two new public papers about the Distributed Real-Time Specification for Java are here and here and both are on drtsj.org
